DHL shipping rates can be quoted for packages that are to be shipped either domestically or internationally. For U. S. shipments, different DHL shipping rates apply for Same Day, Next Day, 2nd Day and Ground Services.
There are also separate DHL shipping rates for ShipReady, Home Residential Service and SmartMail. Next day packages also have a separate pricing structure based on whether or not a shipment needs to be there by 10:30 am, 12 noon or 3:00 pm the following business day.
In regard to letters and packages that are to be shipped internationally, the DHL shipping rates are calculated by Same Day, Worldwide Priority Express, International Document Service, Import Express and GlobalMail.
When determining DHL shipping rates, there are also some optional services and fees that need to be taken into account. Services such as COD, Hazardous Material Handling, Lab Pack, Shipment Value Protection, Signature Service, Proof of Delivery and Hold at DHL station are offered.
Some other optional services for both domestic and international packages include Saturday Pickup and Delivery, Shipment Value Protection for Air and Sunday, Holiday and After Hours Service.
